Werewolfi Trzeciej Rzeszy
In the meantime, Dr. Mengele (Neville Cann, In The Cloud, Small Blue Disk) consults with Hitler (Oliver Fritz, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Stormbird: The Me 262 Story) on his attempt to create a human and rabid wolf crossbreed or, in layman’s terms, a werewolf. Elsewhere, as he accomplishes this, Mengele’s spouse Ilsa (Suzie Frances Garton, Hex, Sinphony) is busy with the tortures of the prisoners and the beds of SS officers.
The Germans carry out an ambush on the truck that Murphy was riding. The guards die, but Murphy and his fellow captives Billy ‘The Butcher’ (Derek Nelson, Pandamonium, The Jack in the Box Rises), ‘Fighting Joe’ Kane (Darren Swain, Avengement, Jurassic Predator) and ‘Reckless’ Reggie Brown (Kwame Augustine, Rise of the Footsoldier: Part II, Cagefighter). Let’s see. Their escape brings them to the doctor’s camp at about the same time that he learns of his wife’s situation. And that he was the one to dose her current lover with his werewolf serum, well, if you’ve sat through as many awful films as I have.
As far as the shot sleeping humor of Werewolves Of The Third Reich is concerned, the major concern is that, It is probably one hour into the film before this shocking twist comes. The film is in fact half over before the ambush sets ‘The Fearless Four’ loose. It is the same big disappointment that the largest part of the film is an abysmally bad plagiarized version of Ingorious Basterds. Which itself was a very bad copy of inglorious bastards.
Now this might be acceptable were it not for the last thirty minutes that do not settle well. But this is not the case. The monsters do not resemble wolves in any way and only two of them exist. And the grand finale is a series of iffy fist fights followed by a shooting spree. It would appear that conventional bullets are effective against Werewolves Of The Third Reich, without the need for silver bullets.
However, perhaps most frustratingly, Jones rewrites history so that the Angel Of Death was wed to Ilsa Koch, the Beast Of Buchenwald (who was the model for Ilsa: She Wolf Of The SS), and then does completely nothing with this storyline. It is difficult to fathom how this sick couple could not have been fully abused; it certainly crossed every boundary imaginable. Also, there is an epilogue that actually rewrites history once again because Jones obviously believes we are all absolute fucking idiots who don’t know anything of history.
Scarecrows Of The Third Reich is, I’m quite astounded to say, in fact the more decent movie out of the two. At the very least, the wrestlers who became actors and the outlandish bouts were quite humorously so, albeit by happenstance. Werewolves Of The Third Reich is quite simply a tedious movie.
