Adopting Terror
In the 2012 film Adopting Terror, Faye Hopkins made her debut as Angela Dieter, played by Monet Mazur; Miss Dieter was the social worker in charge of the Broadbent’s case concerning newborn Mona, who was the child they were adopting. Dieter was very close to the Broadbent family and guided them with her wisdom on how to bring up Mona and giving them emotional comfort whenever it was needed, especially during the times when the biological father of the child, Kevin Anderson, became an antagonist for the couple.
However, Faye derived her name from Angela Dieter, who was in fact Kevin’s mistress and the real mother of Mona. She suffered from dissociative identity disorder and schizophrenia and had two other children with the name Mona, they were Cody and Kaylie. From images, it seems that Faye mistreated her children and they were therefore taken away by social services. Cody and Kaylie were placed in foster care while Mona was placed in the care of Kevin.
But since Kevin was also considered an unfit guardian, the child was put up for adoption. Faye and Kevin then started scheming to retrieve their daughter, Faye doing so through her occupation. After this, when Dr. Ziegler, her manager, started to get close to realizing who Faye was, Faye asked Kevin to kill Ziegler so that he couldn’t tell anyone.
Faye’s dastardly turn occurred when she came home after a meeting with the Broadbents and was apparently assaulted by Kevin, who grabbed her hair and flung her on the bed. However, moments later, she started kissing Kevin and just then, made it clear that she was his lover and helper. Faye said to Kevin that Mona is “feeling homesick,” and so Kevin hatched a plan to go to Broadbent’s house to take away Mona. However, he was forced to escape on account of Tim shooting at him.
After calming down Cheryl and Tim, Faye went to Kevin who was injured and blamed him for allowing their daughter to remain with her parents. She even claimed that all she was waiting for was for the legal proceedings to be completed so Mona could be given to her, and she chuckled at Kevin’s concern about her history of child maltreatment being exposed. It was then that Kevin was ordered by Faye to get inside her car’s trunk, because she wanted him to be out of the public eye, and drove to a gas station, where she purchased a gallon of gasoline.
The villainess Sunami, then, poured gasoline into the car and set it on fire. Her intention was to kill Kevin (although it was later established that he escaped).
The wicked Faye then moved ahead and met with the adoption committee along with Cheryl and Tim who were trying to adopt Mona (which she had informed she will sow side track later). She also slandered their name to the committee which leads the committee to disallow the Morrisons” petition, and they do so. When the police arrested Cheryl and Tim for “kidnapping” Mona after going to Cheryl’s parents’ cabin to hide from Kevin’s tirade, Faye was present.
When Faye took the time to inform Tim that their petition had been denied, he was being handcuffed, and Faye’s haughty behavior caused Cheryl to know who she actually was. As she was dashing towards Mona, Kevin reached first and attacked the police who welcomed both the officer and with two bullets to the remaining one. Faye then took her own gun and shot Tim in the leg when he rushed out into the street.
She then found Cheryl in the shed with Mona, and whereas at first she pretended to be on Cheryl’s side, she soon addressed herself as Mona’s mother and demanded to hand her over under the threats of a gun. Cheryl was able to escape when Faye was busy shooting at Kevin while he attempted to enter the shed, and she was trapped by him at the lake.
Before Kevin shot Cheryl again and approached her close, Faye had already told her that she was never a mother. Cheryl struck Faye with the log she had secretly kept close to her body (after hiding Mona in the shed for safety) and the two engaged in tussle against each other, but Faye was stronger as she was in a position where she was drowning Cheryl. However, moments before Faye could finish the job, Kevin grabbed her and pulled her under the water until she drowned, dying out due to his wounds upon resurrection.
