Paddington

Paddington

Mark Ruffalo is an actor I see quite often, or I rather enjoy seeing. I recall when he first rose to prominence after appearing in the Avengers; from that point on, I began to pay attention to his career in Now You See Me, Spotlight, and Dark Waters among others. I also could not resist raving over his appearances in Zodiac and Shutter Island. David Fincher, Todd Haynes, and Martin Scorsese all agreed: Ruffalo is a great actor. Paddington is a heartwarming family film about a polite bear from Peru who arrives in London seeking a home and embarks on charming adventures with the Brown family. Filled with humor, kindness, and whimsy, it’s a delightful tale for all ages.

One of the favorite roles of my naïve wife is in the Rom-Coms, she’s never hailed a fan of those genres, until watching it with me.

But yes, yes, I get that handsome actors are the ones who played heart-throbs for two decades, So I really shouldn’t be taken aback by seeing a handsome middle aged actor doing the role as well (see also: Chris Evans, Matthew McConaughey, etc.).

In short, my girlfriend virtually did not have to persuade me to watch Just Like Heaven which is a rom-com that has itself with Mark, as long as it starred Reese Witherspoon. In fact, she even had to avoid telling me the story, which was particularly engaging for me in the first part because I had no idea what the movie was about.

Family of E.R. doctor Elizabeth (Witherspoon) were the ones who crashed the car and made her lose her consciousness, since then she has never been able to wake up. The family that barely looks after her who owned the apartment. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have allowed it to be used by David (Ruffalo) who is a huge troll. Aside from drinking beer and disregarding coasters, he also engages in what Elizabeth deems a capital offense. Intriguingly, Elizabeth could disturb him in her apartment because he occupied her body. Honestly, this resulted in Elizabeth and David developing a relationship. In a nutshell, everything began with a friendship but later on got romantic.

I really wish my girlfriend does not interpret this incorrectly, but I have always enjoyed the moments in rom coms where the main characters are in a fight to get together. At least for me, the hatred these characters build due to this part of the story is significant particularly since they will fall in love at the end of the movie.

They also offer up the biggest laughs in the movie before everything becomes heartwarming and contentious, and the same sequence is featured in Just Like Heaven. Here, David is seen trying to evict Elizabeth from ‘his’ apartment only to come to the realization that she is still alive. The fact that only David gets to see Elizabeth makes everything quite funny while parodying both horror movie and apartment romance.

At this point in the story, considering the circumstances, both David and the viewers have reasons to believe that Elizabeth has died. It first causes an extremely intense feeling that Elizabeth and David have lost because, although they both go on to pursue a love story, one is just a ghost right? Then what is going to happen to that? The fact that one is still alive is, surprisingly, delightful.

The chemistry between the two in the romantic comedy Miss Elizabeth Bennet (after watching The Proposal, more anger no can join it with) is treated more delicately with the character of David and Elizabeth, however, since it is hardly an exaggeration to say that one of them was rather imbued with tenderness. It’s as if the writers knew that from the beginning a romantic relationship is a far fetched proposition and so intricately stupid incumbent on the disdain risk made such a situation possible that it gave them wider goals. (Some of the unforgettable ones are coming from Elizabeth’s restraint on suicide by David’s sighting from the possession oppressive drinking habit which David was started to encourage on him and surgery performance of Elizabeth in a restaurant trying operating transfer of her without any intended import into her)

I may not be a romcom enthusiast to say it, but it seems as if most of the movies won’t even allow their protagonists touch fingers until the last act. Ultimately, this layered sense of need worked for me. This stimulated the proposition of the relationship on both parties.

There are quite a number of things that are worth noting in The Final Destination trilogy. All the events have a realistic chronology and it may be said that they result from one cause: an accident involving an aircraft. This cataclysmic event acts as a starting point for the intricate chain of events that follow. This indicates a considerable degree of fantasy, however, it does chime in with some scientists’ theories that anything is possible provided it is thought of in sufficient detail. To put it humorously, a movie world that has a god-father that oversaw its creation is nothing like other forms of art.

The film comes to an entirely unexpected ending as well that is entirely out of the blue, and is arguably labeled as illogical and a simple quest for thrill. This plot takes a turn as the patient in a coma, who was a associated with the character Elizabeth is associated with this plot in a way that she is, In my opinion, this senseless crime is one that most doers won’t even wish to get away with and that only a very few could dream about doing so. Its true that one can overlook all that is wrong with this movie because it is. Just Like Heaven. It is not naturalistic film What does.

To sum it all up, I enjoyed this film immensely much. It’s portrayal of inception, in particular the rental market, does become a tad insipid and borderline cheesy but; I mean good luck trying to investigate how much Elizabeth and David’s apartment would run you in for 2024, nonetheless, the performances given by Ruffalo and Witherspoon are heart warming and humorous enough for the target audience to be charmed.
