Ryan’s World the Movie: Titan Universe Adventure Review

Pocket.watch and Sunlight Entertainment, the family-controlled studio behind Ryan’s World, are teaming with theatrical distributor Falling Forward Films to expand the domestic theatrical release of Ryan’s World The Movie: Titan Universe Adventure. Produced by Shion Kaji and Loann Kaji and directed by Albie Hecht, the film is set to bow on more than 2,100 screens nationwide August 16 as the first-ever wide theatrical release of a digital creator-driven film.

When Ryan’s twin sisters Emma and Kate are sucked into a mystical comic book, he must step up as the great big brother that he is and follow after them. Adventures, battles and comedic mishaps ensue as Ryan and his friends journey through the Titan Universe to save everyone before his parents catch on.

The cast of Ryan’s World The Movie: Titan Universe Adventure features Ryan Kaji, Shion Kaji, Loann Kaji, Emma Kaji and Kate Kaji stars of “Ryan’s World” who play themselves. The film’s anime-style animation comes from Shin-Ei Animation, the Japanese studio behind anime series “Doraemon” and “Crayon Shinchan.” Chris M. Williams is executive producer.

This release follows a string of moves for the Ryan’s World brand including its TV debut on Nickelodeon; consumer products licensing deals with Jada Toys (the first major toy line from a digital creator), Far Out Toys (licensed games), Just Play/Jazwares (role-play toys) and Buffalo Games/Puzzles; among other toy lines from VTech Electronics North America; a partnership with Hulu for kids programming; Pez dispensers from Pez Candy USA featuring characters from “Ryan’s Mystery Playdate”; pocket.watch Kids’ Books distributed by Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing; retail exclusives at Walmart in North America including DVDs/Blu-rays released via Lionsgate Home Entertainment; themed bedding sets via Franco Manufacturing; and the Red Titan balloon becoming the first-ever YouTube brand balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Pocket.watch is partnered with popular creators, whose combined roster of 50-plus partners boasts more than 1 billion subscribers on YouTube. Joining Ryan in Ryan’s World The Movie are Evangeline Lomelino of GEM Sisters, magician Dan Rhodes and Stella Wallace of The Stella Show.
